For Schools
Dancing is interdisciplinary, connecting many different lessons across many different curricula; music, physical education, history, English and can link to any Creative Learning Journey theme.
Just as importantly, it addresses social skills and community awareness and can break down barriers. At its best, a dance session feels like play, with lessons contextualized within specific dance activities instead of lectures or presentations.
Currently DWX has After School Clubs in the following schools:
Alexandra Junior School (Dance and Gymnastics)
Biggin Hill Primary School (Dance for Infants and Juniors)
DWX offers your school a complete dance experience with teaching that is fun and fresh, creative and challenging. We provide classes and workshops at schools in the South East area including:
Clubs: Before school, during lunchtimes or after school (Could also be as part of Extended Services within Schools Initiative)
Curriculum linked workshops: Creative Learning Journey themes, as part of a fund raising/charity event, fitness week, dance festivals, cultural days, Christmas/End of Year shows, PPA cover/Staff release
INSET/Twilight sessions: BBC tapes all too familiar at your school? Dust off those dancing shoes and learn how to teach a basic routine to your class/school. Easy to follow steps which can be adapted to suit a variety of dance styles.
